Darron Segall, MHS

Founder and President

Darron earned his BA in Sociology with a concentration in pre-med from UCLA and a Master’s of Health Science (MHS) degree in Health Finance & Management, Health Policy & Management from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene & Public Health. 

He has successfully implemented novel evidence-based corporate and product-specific reimbursement, health economics and managed care strategies for various industry-leading biotech organizations. Darron initiated and lead efforts with the AMA to establish fair coding policies for point-of-care immunoassay-based panel tests. These efforts resulted in favorable coding guidance and improved customer reimbursement for Quidel’s market leading flu A+B test, facilitating sales efforts and helping to grow revenues from $50 million to $100 million over the following 3 year period.  Darron next served as the Director of HEOR at Verinata Health (an Illumina company) where he successfully developed and executed go-to-market health economic, reimbursement and payer strategies for the then novel verifi™ test, a non-invasive prenatal blood test for fetal aneuploidy. His team helped obtain positive technology assessments and ultimately signed several commercial payer and PPO contracts within 9 months of product launch. Most recently prior to founding DiagnoEconomics, Inc., the HEOR and Market Access consultancy he is currently President & Co-Founder, Darron helped lead reimbursement, commercial operations and health economics & outcomes research (HEOR) efforts to commercially launch and illustrate clinical/economic efficacy of the NantHealth™ GPS Cancer test.  He established DiagnoEconomics, Inc. in May 2018 with Co-Founder Theo McCormick.  


Kerry Cooke

Senior Director Business Development

Kerry started her sales career with wine, cookies, crackers, and savory snacks while working at Gallo and Nabisco in Sales and Sales Training. She made the unconventional transition to genetics when hired by Myriad Genetics in 1998 shortly after they launched the first commercially available genetic test for cancer predisposition. Since that leap in categories, Kerry has worked in both start-up companies and larger organizations in Sales, Marketing and Business Development roles. She has developed deep contacts throughout the clinical genetics market working for Illumina, Perkin Elmer and Genzyme Genetics, she has had the opportunity to learn these markets from various perspectives. Kerry has deep sales and marketing experience in multiple disease states and product lines, from Oncology to Reproductive Genetics. 

Isaiah Gomez

Director Program Management

Isaiah graduated in 2013 from Salem State University with a B.S. in Chemistry, and in 2015 earned his M.S. in Biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Post-graduate school, Isaiah worked in quality control and product development for companies such as DiaSorin in Long Beach, CA and Epic Sciences in San Diego. It was in these roles that Isaiah thrived in multi-functional teams that successfully designed programs for new technology roll-out. Throughout these projects, Isaiah consistently utilized data analysis techniques and technologies to drive decisions that affected project outcomes. Isaiah has also served in companies across several industries as a contractor, partner, and co-founder.  He volunteers on-shore and at sea with organizations such as Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and The Ocean Discovery Institute in San Diego.

Isaiah currently lives in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii with his cat Steve. In addition to serving as Director of Program management for DiagnoEconomics, Inc. he is actively working on projects bringing dynamic data techniques to the aquaculture industry. He remains an active advocate for progress in healthcare and ocean conservation.

Theo McCormick  Co-Founder and Advisor  Theo brings broad marketing and commercialization experience in pharmaceutical, data consulting and diagnostics firms. He has a data driven approach to new product launch, commercialization efforts and development of key opinion leaders. Theo received a B.A., in Communications from Salisbury University.

Our Mission

At DiagnoEconomics our mission is twofold

First 

To establish, foster and support the discipline and study of Diagnoeconomics.

Second

To bridge the HEOR and commercialization gap by leading the collaborative development of evidence-based market access and contracting pathways for clinical diagnostic assays and supporting technologies, while publishing data on clinical, economic and quality of life benefits of those assays and technologies.
